In Honor of … a Departure

With a smiling tear I farewell my dear
When the sun flirts the sky…
When the road scratches the tire

Why such a pain in heart keeps traveling
Faster than the tire
Why such love endures much more
Than this weak heart lying behind an old wheel?

Sixteen years of unshared happiness and sadness
Came to an end by seeing red cheeks and glittering eyes
I never pictured those years so young
I could not imagine this life shorter than our life

And as the hand of the guardian angel holds the red rose
I turn around to see what’s left;
A noisy laughter in the mirror of a fake future.
